Are you actually UIF compliant?

Registered for UIF years ago and not sure if you are still compliant? You could be more at risk than someone who never registered at all. Find out in 2 minutes.

Most household employers who registered for UIF did so years ago — half correctly — and have never logged back in. An incorrect registration, missed monthly declarations, or outdated worker details can leave you just as exposed as never registering. This audit tells you exactly where you stand.

Registration
First let's check that your registration was done correctly in the first place.
1. Are you registered on uFiling as a Domestic Employer — not a Commercial Employer?
2. Do you have a UIF employer reference number?
Your worker's details
Outdated worker information on uFiling is one of the most common compliance problems.
3. Is your worker still listed as active on uFiling?
4. Is the salary figure on uFiling still correct and up to date?
5. If a previous worker left your employment, did you update their status on uFiling?
Monthly declarations
This is where most registered employers fall short. Registration is once-off. Declarations are every single month.
6. Are you submitting a monthly UIF declaration on uFiling before the 7th of each month?
7. Are you paying UIF contributions every month — both your 1% and your worker's 1%?
Documentation
If inspectors arrive, these are the documents they will ask for.
8. Do you give your worker a payslip every month?
9. Does your worker have a signed written employment contract?
10. Are you registered for COIDA — the Compensation Fund for workplace injuries?
